At the Georgia Youth Football League (GYFL), we believe that cheerleading is more than just a sport—it's a powerful tool for building character and fostering community. Under the leadership of our Cheer Commissioner, Calandria McCroery, we provide a vibrant and faith-based environment for children throughout the metropolitan Atlanta area to explore their passion for cheerleading.

Our mission is to develop a comprehensive cheerleading program that not only meets the unique needs of our youth and their families but also encourages personal growth in physical, mental, social, and educational realms. We emphasize the values of good citizenship and sportsmanship, reinforcing our commitment to the communities we proudly serve.

We aim to maintain a competitive cheerleading program that prioritizes character development, ensuring that all participants learn important lessons in self-esteem, discipline, respect, and integrity. Every cheerleader is treated with dignity, and their individual contributions are valued.

In alignment with GYFL’s Constitution and By-Laws, as well as the standards set by the National Federation of High School Sports and local Parks and Recreation Departments, our program is dedicated to fostering youth athletics in a supportive environment.

Our objectives include fostering a spirited yet wholesome competitive atmosphere that is rooted in fun. We take pride in recognizing and celebrating the contributions of organizations, coaches, parents, and cheerleaders who exemplify integrity, honor, and servant leadership. Additionally, we reward academic excellence, honoring cheerleaders who maintain high grades and good conduct throughout the season.

In our commitment to combat childhood obesity and promote healthy behaviors, GYFL Cheer encourages physical activity and engagement.
